About EALCJ

The European Association of Labour Court Judges is an independent body committed to the promotion of information and contacts in the field of employment law and judicial practice. Membership is open to Labour Judges in all countries of the European Union and the European Economic Area.

The principal activities of the Association consist of an annual Conference, at which we discuss a topic of general interest to Labour Judges, collaboration with the European Judicial Training Network to promote Europe-wide training of Labour Judges, and articulation of judicial views in relation to developing legislative and associated initiatives in the field of Labour Law.

The Association’s inaugural Conference was held in Bath, England, in 1996. Since then, annual Conferences have been held in a wide range of venues throughout Europe. The most recent (19th) Annual Conference entitled “Workers Rights v. The Business Imperative – The clash between the economic and social dimensions”, took place in Helsinki, Finland, on 12th & 13th June 2015.

Details of the forthcoming 20th Annual Conference of the EALCJ, which will address topical issues under the title of “Too Young or Too Old?: Protecting Working Conditions for the New Age”, are to be found here.

Full reports from all of the Association’s past Conferences can be accessed elsewhere on this EALCJ web-site
